PRCA/Grit Rock Deal Is OFF!

Thursday January 27, 2005
After alot of blood, sweat, and tears (not to mention a fair bit of worrying on a lot of peoples part), the PRCA has decided to opt out of the joint media venture with Grit Rock.

New commissioner Troy Ellerman, has canned the agreement that was spearheaded by his predecessor, Steve Hatchell who quit during this years NFR.

I know a lot of you are concerned about exactly what is going on in the rodeo world, and solid answers are really hard to come by. Here is what I know:
The PRCA is roughly in about 10 million in debt. Although many rodeo circuits have released statements about carrying on if the PRCA goes under, this is not expected to happen by any means!

I think the powers that be need to relax a little, think about what needs to be done and go from there. This venture being called off is a good start in my opinion. I'm not sure if this would have been a good deal for rodeo or not, but the speed of putting this plan into action was making me, and a considerable number of others, nervous.
