Thumbs Up for the New Mexico Governor!

Thursday February 24, 2005
Bill Richardson, New Mexico Governor has signed EXECUTIVE ORDER 2005-009 to establish the New Mexico Rodeo Council.

"Rodeo is a long standing New Mexico tradition," said Governor Richardson.

"The creation of this council will help to make sure that young people will be able to compete and that this tradition will not be lost."
The Council will be composed of 11 members to study how the state can develop and support the sport of rodeo at the junior, high school, college, and professional levels, promote and attract competitive rodeo events, and provide information to rodeo participants, fans, and promoters regarding rodeo events and programs throughout the state.

My note to the other 49 State Governors:
DO THE SAME THING!! Rodeo's cultural heritage is something that needs to be protected and nurtured. I would like to personally thank and congratulate Governor Richardson for some forward thinking and a fantastic perspective on the sport of rodeo!!

If you would like to send Governor Richardson a thank you email to let him know his support of rodeo is appreciated, click Email the Governor.
