The Mother Lode Roundup Rodeo in Sonora, CA. is one of my favorite rodeos. Nothing beats heading up to my old stompin' grounds in gold country and competing in a rodeo. Ahh, the memories...

For those of you who have never had the pleasure of experiencing a rodeo in what really is the heart (and birthplace) of California, then I recommend heading out to this event or the one in Auburn, for rodeo with a distinctly California 'Gold Rush' style.
The winners of the Mother Lode Roundup Rodeo are:

• All-Around: Casey Minton
• Bareback: Tyson Thompson
• Steer Wrestling: Brett Kennedy
• Team Roping: Jay Chesson & Scott Harvey
• Saddle Bronc: Justin Arnold, John Flook, Jerad McFarlane, and Duf Dufurrena in a 4-way tie.
• Tie-down: Tom Erickson and Ryle Smith tied for 1st.
• Barrel Racing: Cathy Cagliari
• Bull Riding: Bobby Waller

The rain couldn't deter the dedicated rodeo fans who turned out to watch this fantastic rodeo. Personally, the day when this writing thing pans out I will retire to build my log cabin in 'Moke Hill.' Then you just might see me at the Roundup trying my skills at the local team roping!
