Famous Cowboys of 2005

Friday July 15, 2005
The ProRodeo Hall of Fame will induct 6 new members to join the legendary cowboys who reside in spirit in the hall of fame. Wyoming, New Mexico, Nevada, Montana, and California have representatives in this diverse and deserving group.

The Inductees are:
  • Chris LeDoux (Kaycee, WY.) - late bareback rider and singer/songwriter. Perhaps rodeo's greatest personality outside of the arena.
  • Joe Marvel (Battle Mountain, NV.) - bronc rider and rancher with the coolest name in rodeo, past or present (except for maybe Cimmaron Gerke).
  • Jimmie Cooper (Monument, N.M.) - all around roper and family man.
  • Charles Maggini (Hollister, CA.) - late team and steer roper, master horseman who was there in the early days of professional rodeo.
  • Marvin Brookman (Wolf Point, MT.) - legendary stock contractor who provided some of the best broncs rodeo has ever seen.
  • Slim Pickens (Kingsburg, CA.) - late rodeo clown and famous character actor who was born Louis Bert Lindley Jr.
Congratulations to all the inductees and their families for a job well done and a sport well served.
