PRCA Bullfighter of the Year Award is Wide Open
Friday September 19, 2008
Bullfighter Joe Baumgartner is tossed by a bull. Joe has won the PRCA Bullfighter of the Year Award every year since its inception in 2004. This year someone new will take the title.Photo: Donald Miralle / Getty Images
The race for PRCA Bullfighter of the Year is wide open in 2008 because Joe Baumgartner, bullfighting legend, has not been nominated for a fifth time. The Bullfighter of the Year was added to the PRCA Year-End Awards in 2004 and every time since Baumgartner has won the vote. This year will see a new face crowned with the title. Who will it be?
The 5 nominees are:
- Cory Wall
- Darrell Diefenbach
- Kenneth Bergeron
- Michael Clay Collins
- Travis Lee Adams
So the question is, who do you, my loyal readers, think will win? Vote in the comments section.

Dief, natch!

Gotta go with Darrell Diefenbach on this one. Good to see some new names in the competition, taking NOTHING away from Joe Baumgartner who has certainly earned it each year. Cory Wall is right behind though!
i’m hoping it’s darrell he has long deserved it. Good luck darrell
I am pulling for Cory Wall, I was taught bullfighting by Cory. He is good at what he does and a class act.
Without a doubt…Clay Collins! Diefy and Trav are really great too, but gotta pick my cousin on this one.
CORY WALL WITHOUT DOUBT! I WORKED WITH CORY AT SANKEY RODEO SCHOOLS; CORY IS A GREAT PERSON AND A GREAT BULLFIGHTER! I THINK THE PRCA, ONCE AGAIN, DID HIM AN INJUSTICE BY NOT INVITING HIM TO VEGAS. SO, I’M NOT GOING TO WATCH!
congrats darrell it was great to see you win it this year
