As the country turns its thoughts towards the holiday season, cowboys and cowgirls throughout the United States turn their attention to Las Vegas and the National Finals Rodeo. Las Vegas hosts the annual World Championship event, a 10-day feast for the senses. Bucking bulls, charging cowboys and beautiful cowgirls crowd into the arena at the Thomas and Mack Center, all hoping to leave the best in the world. Shopping, food and drinks abound and people flock to Sin City for the Finals, which are almost more exciting for the spectators than they are for the contestants.
Even though many rodeo enthusiasts are busy preparing for the National Finals Rodeo, they still take the time out to be thankful for everything in their lives. They are thankful for the quiet of the early morning, while the horses are still dozing and the cows are quietly grazing in the frosty field. They feel blessed by the strength, power and good health to enter the arena time after time and live out their dreams. Whether large dreams or small, we should all take a moment this Thanksgiving to pay homage to the blessings in our lives, and keep those less fortunate in our thoughts.
