Is there a difference in bareback and saddle bronc horses?

From Ralph Clark, for About.com

Question: Is there a difference in bareback and saddle bronc horses?
Answer: In general, bareback horses are usually leaner, quicker and more agile.

Saddle broncs on the other hand are generally more powerful, and have more muscle.

However, you can virtually use any horse in each event and many broncs will buck just as hard under a saddle as under a rigging.
Many horses are used in both events, but stock contractors will usually place a horse where it can be the most effective and buck off the most cowboys.
