After a strange accident at the Clovis Rodeo in California, Jessee visited a neurologist to check on some concerning symptoms. He has suffered numerous concussions in his rodeo career and the doctors advice was dim. He had to make a hard decision to quit his promising rodeo career to live a long and healthy life. He retired at the end of May in 2004.
While at UNLV, Jessee studied to be a rock carver, and he makes tombstones as a side business. He will now focus on his trade full-time and is planning on opening Jessee Monuments in his hometown of Prineville.
As a competitor, he will be missed.
