Rodeo Christmas Gift GuideGift Suggestions from Your Guide to Rodeo: I've put together some suggestions for Christmas and holiday gifts with a decidedly rodeo and western theme. I hope I can help a little with the hectic holiday shopping. Here they are in no particular order: 2007 PBR Champion Justin McBride's Debut CD: Justin McBride has put together a CD called "Don't Let Go" with some great music that any fan of rodeo should love. Available exclusively from the PBR for $14.99. Hobbled Stirrups by Jane Burnett Smith: An exciting book from Jane Burnett Smith, a rodeo cowgirl who rodeo saddle broncs in the early days of rodeo. A must for anyone who wants to know what it was like to grow up in rural America and rodeo in the 40's and 50's. Bob Tallman's Ranch Fixin's Seasonings: Bob Tallman, PRCA Announcer of the Year and ProRodeo Hall of Famer, if you watch rodeo then you've heard his legendary voice. Now Bob is offering some excellent ranch seasonings...Texas Style! I recommend using the Steak Dust on a nice juicy rib-eye. You can thank me later! In addition to providing a great seasoning Bob donates a portion of his proceeds to the Justin Cowboy Crisis Fund which helps rodeo competitors in times of hardship. Roy Cooper Roping My Dreams DVD: Excellent and informative DVD from legendary roper Roy Cooper. You can order the movie by going to Cowboy Night Before Christmas by James Rice: This is a good one for the kids on your ranch. The classic Christmas tale gets reworked as Santa finds himself in a raging blizzard in the American Southwest on Christmas Eve when he has to get a couple of cowboys and a herd of longhorn cattle to help him deliver all of his toys and goodies on schedule. Great little book that will warm your little cowpunchers heart. Chasing the Rodeo by W.K. Stratton: I recommend this book as a great slice of life of modern rodeo. Traces the author's firsthand tour of the rodeo scene in 2003, sharing his discoveries about roundup history, culture, and events, in a search for the runaway "rodeo bum" father the author never knew. PBR Bull Riding Mega Toy Pack: Here is a gift suggestion for the little cowboys or cowgirls. Posable figures and rodeo dioramas make this one really cool toy set for the younger bull riding fan. Each megapack set includes 4 dioramas, 8 bulls, and 12 bull riders (total). I wish they had stuff like this when I was younger! Barrel Racing Playset :
Another really cool toy set along the lines of the bull riding set mentioned above. In this barrel racing set you get 2 horses with their tack 2 cowgirls 3 barrels 2 timer tripods 12 fence sections and clips (ages 4 and up).
