"That was huge," said Sherwood. "We had come in with both of us real close to the lead, but dropped down so far in the average that we had to make it up in the rounds. It was a kind of do-or-die deal, so I got on a different horse that it would have been easy to lose my rope or miss on. But I knew we had to take a chance, and it paid off for us in a big way."
"It's been swapping back and forth all week and all year in both the heading and heeling," said Adams. "I've had some misfortune in a few spots this week, but that run tonight felt good, and now I just want to finish it out."

Cody Wright clinches the World Champion Saddle Bronc Rider title in this round after a buck-off by Billy Etbauer.
"It is a dream come true," Wright said. "This is what I have been shooting for for a long time. I had not run the numbers. I have been telling my wife (ShaRee) to keep it low. It's been an awesome season. I had a great winter and great summer ... It's been a great year."

"It feels awesome. Indescribable, really," said Cooper, who has won $47,055 in Las Vegas. "I've been waiting on this for a long time. I've won a lot of rounds at the NFR while I was roping the dummy, and I've been 6.7 here before, in my head. I'm stoked. I'm good in the average, and I took a chance tonight. I have an outside chance to win the world. I have to take a chance tomorrow night, too."

"I didn't just ride one this time, I won," Schumacher said. "I broke my bad luck streak by a lot. But everything needs to happen earlier in the week than it has. I can't win it (world title) now, and I know it, but I can get some of that money, so I will try to ride like I can and just see what happens this next round."
