Albany Invitational Results
January 26-27, 2008Albany, NY.
Stop number six on the Built Ford Tough Series from Albany, New York.
Travis Briscoe has triumphed once again in Albany taking home his third title of the season (in addition to Worcester and Fresno) over the weekend. So far this year Briscoe has managed an impressive 3 wins, four Top 5's, four Top 10's and one 90+ (point) ride.
Briscoe edged out Luke Snyder by a quarter of a point by staying consistent over the three rounds and splitting first (with Aussie Brendon Clark) in Round 1. Briscoe rode Frank the Tank for a 89.75-point score.
"I drew perfect (bulls) this weekend and I've found out that a little try goes a long way in this sport," said Briscoe at the conclusion of the Albany Invitational. "I'm healthy this year and trying to win. I want it a lot more than I did last year and I've finally gotten everything straight in my head. Money is here and gone and I don't do this for the money. I love the sport and to be good at what you love is just amazing." (Quote Courtesy PBR)
Briscoe seems poised to really make a statement in 2008 and as long as he stays healthy I'm sure he will continue that momentum. Which isn't too bad for a 20 year-old in only his third year of competition. However the BFTS Series is the toughest season in professional sports and staying on top for the entire year is a daunting task for any bull rider.
