The Winter Tour is over, the points have been tallied and the top 12 in tour points from each event descended on Tulsa, Oklahoma for the Pace Picante ProRodeo Chute-out, the championship event that caps off the winter session of the ProRodeo Tour.

The Chute-out is comprised of 3 rounds of competition, with all 12 competitors participating in the 1st Round. The top 8 then move on to the Semifinals and the top 4 to the Finals. Scores and times are thrown out after each round making this an elimination-style tournament which provides exciting and unique rodeo action.

Competitors battle for the prize money and the coveted Crystal Cup which is awarded to the winners of the Pace Series of events.

2006 Chute-out Winners:

  • Bareback: Andy Martinez (Champion from 2005) with an 89-point ride on Wise Guy.
  • Steer Wrestling: Ronnie Fields made a 4.1 second run.
  • Team Roping: Speed Williams and Clay O’Brien Cooper captured the title with 4.9 seconds.
  • Saddle Bronc: Rod Hay scored 80 points on Billings.
  • Tie-Down: Monty Lewis made a 7.1 second run.
  • Barrel Racing: Mary Burger turned in a 12.70 second run to take the title.
  • Bull Riding: Zack Oakes rode Deuces Wild for 93 points and the victory.

The top 4 competitors in each event will automatically qualify for the ProRodeo Tour Championship Finale (November 10-12) in Texas.

The rodeo season continues with the Summer Tour that kicks off at the Reno Rodeo in June.
