Question: How does the PRCA's Million Dollar Tour Work?
Answer: Every dollar the contestants earn at tour sanctioned rodeos counts towards the 2009 Tour Standings. Even though there are two levels of the tour (Gold and Silver levels) the money counts equally from both levels.
As contestants earn money they will be ranked accordingly in the standings. At the end of the season, the top 24 contestants in each event will qualify for the rodeo playoffs. This year the first playoff will occur in Puyallup, Washington, September 11-13.
After the first playoff rodeo, only the top 12 contestants at that time will advance to the second playoff rodeo in Omaha, Nebraska on September 24-26. This rodeo will be a tournament-style event to determine the champions of the Wrangler ProRodeo Million Dollar Tour.
