San Antonio Stock Show and Rodeo ResultsWrangler ProRodeo TourSan Antonio Stock Show & Rodeo
San Antonio, TX. February 1-16, 2008 The San Antonio Stock Show and Rodeo is the fourth stop the New Wrangler ProRodeo Tour, the PRCA's premier series of rodeo. This year the tour will expand to 26 rodeos and will culminate in 4 Ariat Playoff Series events at the end of the year. The San Antonio Rodeo is the first regular season rodeo to offer a whopping $1,000,000 in prize money! The man of the hour was Mississippi cowboy Chance Smart. Smart virtually swept the weekend by winning a Dodge Xtreme Bulls event (and placing 2nd in the next Xtreme Bulls event) and then covering all 3 of his bulls at the $1 million dollar San Antonio super rodeo. "It's been a great week," Smart said. "San Antonio brings some of the best stock contractors in the world here, and it is an honor to be able to ride eight bulls straight here, four of them in the (Dodge Xtreme Bulls Tour) bull ridings and four at the rodeo. It's just hard to believe. I don't know what to say about the stock, they were just great." (Quote Courtesy PRCA) Another headline was saddle bronc rider Taos Muncy breaking the arena record with a 92-point ride on top of Kesler Championship Rodeo's bronc Cool Alley. 2008 San Antonio Rodeo Average Winners:
