Guide Review - Flint Spears: Cowboy Rodeo Contestant by Will James

Flint Spears: Cowboy Rodeo Contestant by Will James is an excellent novel about rodeo's early years.

Available in hardcover and paperback, this book was first published in 1938.

This novel details the exploits of cowboy Flint Spears in his quest for the all-around cowboy title. This is a great story with plenty of interesting aspects about early rodeo culture. It has numerous pen and ink drawings and a fantastic collection of black and white photos at the back. I recommend this book for any rodeo fan who is also interested in a little bit of rodeo history.
